With the latest Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup racing season only just finished, the Interwetten.com Junior Team is already busy with preparations for 2012. With Melville McKee, a promising driver has already been signed up by the Austrian racing team.

The Brit convinced in this year’s Formula Renault 2.0 ALPS championship as overall fourth. The 17 year old claimed podium places on four occasions, three times as the winner. Furthermore, he is not unknown to the team. “We tested with Melville in 2010, when his potential was evident”, reports team manager Michael Schneider. “Now he’s ready for teh Eurocup and we are delighted to have him on board.”

As part of the preparations for the coming season, the team will take part in the Formula Renault 2.0 UK Finals Series in Great Britain. “The Winter Cup in England will provide the ideal opportunity for Melville to prepare for the next season. We expect very tough competition and the English teams certainly profit from their home advantage, considering our team and drivers are competing on unknown tracks”, explains the team manager.

The first four races will take place in Snetterton on 5th and 6th November. On 12th November, the drivers will compete in the last two races in Rockingham. During the test days ahead of the races, further viewings will take place by the Interwetten.com Junior Team to choose more drivers for the Eurocup 2012 season, in which four vehicles are planned to be at the start. Further tests are scheduled for December in Motorland-Aragon, Barcelona and Valencia.

„Our aim is to continue our Eurocup success story so far with the intention of improving even further if at all possible”, explains Michael Schneider. “In the technical department, we gained David Muntaner for our Engineering Team. David will certainly add a lot of experience to our team.” The experienced engineer, who used to work for Epsilon, where he helped Albert Costa to achieve the 2009 Eurocup title, will support the Austrian team from heron in.
