The Interwetten.com Junior Team had every reason to celebrate at the eighth race of the Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup at the French Magny-Cours. Luciano Bacheta made full use of his third starting place and finished the race in second. Not only did the Brit get his fourth podium place with that but also confirmed his second place in the championship. For his team colleague Sandro Lukovic however, things didn’t go so well. The Austrian lost a duel with a competitor, was pushed off and was eliminated while in point ratings in the seventh lap.
„I am absolutely content with the result”, Luciano is happy. “Even though I probably could have done even better, considering I drove the fastest lap. With the rain beginning, I didn’t want to risk too much though.” After three third places and one second, the young Brit only needs a win for his collection. “I will give my very best to ensure that will happen soon”, assures Luciano. “And I would like to thank my team once more, without whose hard work these great results would be impossible.”
As reported above, this race did not turn out too well for Sandro Lukovic. “It is a pity, he could have achieved his first points today”, regrets team manager Michael Schneider. During the race, another driver cut the Austrian off and pushed him off the track. Sandro had delivered a fantastic performance with a ninth place in his second qualifying ever. Motivated by these results, Sandro can hardly wait for the next races to come.
They will take place near the Hungarian Budapest on 3rd to 4th July. The Hungaroring, like the race track in Brno, is close to Vienna. The Interwetten.com Junior Team would therefore be especially delighted with the support of their fans from home.
